What We Believe

God. The Bible. The Story. The Beginning. The Middle. The End.

The Good News.

God.

The triune God has existed since eternity past in other-centered communion. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the one true God revealed in Scripture. God's foundational nature is love. God loves us. God loves you. He is doing everything in his power to save every individual.

The Bible.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. Hence, we can trust it in everything it says. To the Christian, the Bible is the ultimate rule of faith and practice. The Bible can be objectively understood when using basic principles of interpretation.

The Story.

God created a perfect universe, free from sin and selfishness. At some point, though, a created being used his free will to rebel against God. He falsely accused God before the universe. God decided to defeat the charges by a public display of his character. That display is taking place on planet earth. Through his interactions with humanity, God is proving he is just, and he is love.

The Beginning.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He created humankind as the crown of creation, and gave them the seventh day -the Sabbath- to rest. Humanity today can look back at creation to see the ideal plan of God: wholeness and harmony in all areas of life, as well as weekly rest.

The Middle.

The universal church exists to extend the kingdom of God on earth. That is, to restore God’s ideal in humanity and creation. A follower of Jesus is called to join a local church and participate in God’s mission today.

The End.

Jesus will soon come. He will annihilate unrepentant sinners and the enemy. He will also save all who trusted in Jesus. Lastly, he will restore creation. The New Creation will be a physical reality, where resurrected human beings will enjoy the earth as God originally intended. The character of God will be vindicated, and all the universe will confess that God is love.

The Good News.

Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty of sin and reveal God’s character. He rose from the dead, he ascended to heaven, and he is coming back soon. Individuals will be saved by trusting in Christ’ person and work. They can also enjoy abundant life today.
